FP Markets is a long-running Australian broker offering some of the lowest raw trading costs across all the popular third-party platforms.
Our verdict on FP Markets
FP Markets was founded in Australia in 2005 and is regulated by ASIC in Australia, CySEC in Europe and the FSA in Seychelles, among others. It has no FCA-authorised company, so UK residents are not covered by UK protections such as the FSCS or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Costs are very competitive. The Raw account has spreads from 0.0 pips plus US$3 per lot per side, and the Standard account has no commission with spreads from 1.0 pip. Both need only AUD 100 (or equivalent) to open, and FP Markets doesn't charge deposit fees or bank-wire withdrawal fees.
Platform choice is strong, with MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, and FP Markets offers a large range of share CFDs on some platforms. For UK residents, though, the lack of FCA authorisation is the deciding factor. We suggest comparing FCA-authorised low-cost brokers such as Pepperstone, Tickmill or Vantage first.
