HFM (formerly HotForex) offers lots of account options and trading tools across many jurisdictions, though its standard pricing is on the high side.
Our verdict on HFM
HFM (formerly HotForex) is a global broker that serves UK clients through HF Markets (UK) Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the FCA (FRN 801701) and based in Holborn, London.
HFM's appeal is flexibility and low entry costs. The Premium account has no minimum deposit and no commission, with costs in the spread. The Zero account offers raw spreads plus a commission from US$3 per lot, with a US$25 minimum deposit. HFM doesn't charge deposit fees, and trading runs on MT4, MT5 and the HFM app.
The main thing to understand is that HFM's international website advertises features, such as leverage up to 1:2000, that are not available to UK retail clients. UK accounts follow FCA rules: leverage is capped at 1:30 on major forex pairs and you get negative balance protection. HFM's research and education are solid, but the product range and brand are less established in the UK than IG, CMC or Pepperstone.
